Ok, Spring has arrived………..or at least it tried to and Easter is right around the corner.
If you don’t have much time, but you want to bring some “Spring” into your home or need some quick ideas to decorate your Easter table, check out these Five Simple DIY Spring/Easter Decor Ideas and you’ll be done decorating and eating chocolate eggs, the way it should be, in no time.
Colorful Twine Wrapped Easter Eggs
Grab some empty easter eggs, any shape, any color, and wrap them in jute or twine. Get a festive container to display, some Easter grass, and you’re good to go. I was lucky enough in one of my hour long expeditions of walking the clearance areas at Target to find these little packages of twine on clearance for $.5o, but anything similar will do. At first I used a glue gun to secure the twine around the egg, a little here and a little there, but that was cumbersome because the glue dried too quickly. I found that a simple old gluestick worked best, which makes this a craft your kiddos can help with.
Easter or Spring Printable in a Frame
For a mantel, entry way or dining table, nothing is easier than filling a frame with a festive printable. Pinterest is full of great pinners that have already done the work for you have and free printables. Just search for “free Spring printable” or “free Easter printable” and find one you like, download, and print.
If you don’t have a printer and don’t have the time to go get something printed, cut out something festive from an old Easter card and frame it. Holiday cards always have great pictures and are easy to frame and use as a decoration on your mantel or by your front door.
Jelly Bean Tree
Even though only one of my kiddos likes jelly beans we always seem to have them around come Easter time and you know I love to decorate with a good twig found from my yard or the local park. All you need to create a festive centerpiece is some twigs, jelly beans, glue gun and a container to display your Jelly bean tree. If you want to go that extra step you can spray paint your twigs like I did, but it isn’t necessary.
DIY Spring Banner
Nothing dresses up your mantel or even your front door like a festive banner. Check out our DIY Spring Banner made from scrapbook paper and paper bags and you’ll have your own made in no time.
DIY Burlap Easter Tree
Many people have burlap trees that they use for Christmas decorations. To quickly adapt them for Easter, just check out our tutorial for Easy DIY Burlap Easter Trees. All you need is a tree, some fake eggs, wire and some small fake flowers.
If you don’t have a burlap tree you could make one (they really aren’t that hard and don’t take too long) or you could use other holiday trees like small evergreen or tinsel.
